This bench was constructed several years back as a better platform for
handtool work. A more thorough description with more
photos
of the vise can be found here.
This bench is equipped with a tool tray in the rear.
The front legs extend 1 1/2 inches into the benchtop to hold it in
place.
The blue tinted hole in the center is for a holdfast.
The
vise is made of oak and supplied with a sliding dog panel.
The
screw attaches to a curved piece rather than solidly to the jaw to
eliminate racking.
